CONGRATULATIONS, MR. ROAN!  WE ARE SO VERY PROUD!

Roan

We are honored and excited to announce that our very own, Mr. Richard Roan, has been named the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP) Region 8 Outstanding High School Principal of the Year for 2019.  As the Region 8 winner, he is eligible to compete for the state title of Texas Principal of the Year.

Mr. Roan was nominated and chosen by his peers within Region 8 for this wonderful honor.  His nomination was based upon exemplary performance and outstanding leadership.   During his tenure at Cooper ISD, he has served as Assistant Principal, Junior High Principal and now High School Principal, where he continues to be influential in establishing a culture where students are provided with opportunities for success.

Mr. Roan attended Texas Tech University where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications. He then attended Texas A&M University-Commerce where he was awarded a Master of Education in Educational Administration.

All regional winners will be recognized during the Josten’s Night of the Stars Award Dinner at the 2019 TASSP Summer Conference in Austin.  If selected as a state winner by the TASSP Principals Image Committee, he will advance to compete for the NASSP Principal of the Year Award.
